A Taste of Waikiki Comes to Willenhall Care Home

Residents at Swan House Care Home in Willenhall donned grass skirts and leis as they got into the swing of island life with a Hawaiian Luau themed pamper day.

The serene day saw residents dancing to Hawaiian ukulele music and sipping coconut water while relaxing tropical scents wafted through the home.

Topping off the tranquil day was coconut oil hand and foot massages delivered by a trained masseuse.

The home, which is managed by Larchwood Care, offers its residents a constantly evolving range of activities, designed to keep minds engaged and bodies active. These include yoga, quizzes and Covid-safe visits from entertainers – and even therapy animals!

A Truly Tropical Time

Julie Hinton, manager at the Swan House Care Home, said: β€œThe residents had a totally tropical time with our Hawaii themed pamper day.

β€œWe filled a room with pineapples, flower garlands and other typically Hawaiian decorations and everyone got an β€˜Aloha’ as they came through the door.

β€œOur activities coordinator is always coming up with new ideas to keep residents busy. This one went down a treat so it looks like we may be in for a few more holiday-themed days to enjoy!”
