Care Homes Celebrate National Afternoon Tea Week!

It’s National Afternoon Tea Week, and our care homes brewed up something special for our residents. From scones to sandwiches and everything in between, we’re serving up a whole lot of delicious delights!

Avonbridge

The team at Avonbridge raised a whopping Β£200 at their ‘Great Avonbridge Bake off’ for Breast Cancer Now, a great achievement for such a worth cause! Staff turned up the heat in the kitchen and it was a close competition, however Leah took the win with her delicious bake. well done to everyone who took part!

Cranford

In Cranford, residents enjoyed a very traditional Scottish themed afternoon tea party. Shortbread, fruit scones, and Tunnocks caramel biscuits tantalised their taste buds and brought the spirit of the Highlands to life!

Eastwood Court

Over at Eastwood Court, elegance was the order of the day as they used their finest china and enjoyed tea in absolute style. The clinking of teacups and the dainty clatter of saucers added a touch of sophistication to the delightful afternoon with friends.

The Hollies

The Hollies! The Afternoon was spent in the company of freshly baked scones, plump strawberries, and delightful conversations with dear friends. There’s nothing quite like the joy of a warm scone topped with jam and clotted cream!

Lily House

At Lily House, the residents embarked on a tea-tasting experience, exploring an array of flavored teas. However, as the afternoon unfolded, a consensus emergedβ€”nothing beats a good old “proper cuppa”! As the home discussed the intricate nuances of “Tea Etiquette”, resident’s discovered that there are more rules to tea-drinking than meets the eye. Pinky up or down? Saucer in left or right hand? To stir or to fold? And, of course, the sacred ruleβ€”we definitely don’t drink out of the saucer! Who knew that a simple act of enjoying tea could unlock a world of traditions and rituals!

Muirton House

The activities and dining team from Muirton House teamed up to create an afternoon tea fit for a king! The residents enjoyed a wide selection of homemade bakes and sipped tea out of their finest china. An absolutely scrumptious afternoon!
