The residents of Cams Ridge Care Home in Fareham recently welcomed Tiger the cat into their home.
For a while now, adopting a cat has been the topic of discussion around the home with many residents having had cats of their own. Tiger became Cams Ridge’s newest resident after being chosen by popular demand from all the cats at Portsmouth’s Second Chance Cat Rescue.
Tiger has been living at the Hampshire-based care home for a few weeks and is quickly settling in. He loves snuggling up on residents’ laps just as much as they love his company.
The grounds at Cams Ridge are filled with spacious and secure gardens for Tiger to enjoy. He’s often seen exploring the gardens and is usually being watched closely by the Cams Ridge residents who keep their eye on him, making sure he doesn’t get into any trouble!
Sabina Stan, acting manager of the home said: “Pet Therapy has been proven to be beneficial to elderly people and those living with dementia.
“We were delighted to hear that our residents wanted to permanently adopt a cat, as it allows us to take our pet therapy sessions a step further and residents can benefit from pet therapy every day.”
The home was thoroughly checked by workers at Second Chance who were quick to approve the adoption process.
